Men’s Health Services in Bend, OR

Dr. Collins says most of his men’s health conversations are about hormones, erectile dysfunction, libido and motivation. In the video above he calls sorting out a man’s testosterone some of the best ‘bang for the buck’ in medicine, once the blood work is done.

That doesn’t mean everyone needs testosterone. He starts with the basics, like sleep, digestion and stress, because hormones won’t fix a man who isn’t sleeping. And he’ll tell you which supplements, peptides and protocols he thinks are a waste of money.

Dr. Collins integrates the latest scientific research with traditional medicine and indigenous wellness practices to create protocols that support hormonal balance, sexual health, and overall vitality. Whether you’re dealing with erectile dysfunction, low libido, lack of motivation, muscle loss, stubborn weight gain, or stress from life transitions, we provide expert guidance and personalized solutions to help you achieve your best health.

Your first visit

It starts with a free phone call. Dr. Collins says he can usually tell within about five minutes whether he can help you, and whether you’re a good fit for each other.

The first office visit usually runs about an hour. You’ll go through your health history, medications, past trauma and stress, sleep and diet, and then your labs. If another doctor ran blood work recently, bring it. He can often build on those results instead of repeating them, which keeps the lab bill down.

If labs show clinically low testosterone, testosterone replacement therapy in Bend is one option alongside nutrition, sleep and metabolic support. Some men also keep Dr. Collins on as their primary care doctor.

What we treat in men, and where to read more

  • Low testosterone. Fatigue, low drive, belly fat and brain fog, confirmed with labs before anything is prescribed. Our Bend testosterone clinic page covers male hormone replacement in detail, and this guide explains how low T is tested and treated in Bend.
  • Erectile dysfunction. Mayo Clinic notes that trouble getting or keeping an erection can be a sign of a health condition that needs treatment, and a risk factor for heart disease. That’s why the workup looks past hormones.
  • Prostate health and PSA. Read PSA, testosterone and prostate cancer before you start hormones.
  • Side effect questions on TRT, such as whether TRT causes hair loss and whether it affects fertility.
  • Low mood and motivation. Dr. Collins says a lot of men hide depression. If you already take an antidepressant, don’t stop it on your own. He can continue a prescription while you and your prescribing doctor plan next steps.

Some problems belong with a specialist. For men on testosterone, the Endocrine Society advises a urology referral if PSA rises more than 1.4 ng/mL within 12 months or goes above 4.0 ng/mL. We’d rather send you on early than late.
