Dr. Drew Evan Collins, B.S., N.D., was born and raised in Bend, Oregon, in a home enriched by music, art, science, flowers, and pets. With the love and guidance of his mother, father, and siblings, Drew developed a deep passion for the liberal arts and sciences, which led him to pursue his education at the University of Oregon, where he graduated in 1979 with a degree in Biology and Comparative Religion. In 1984, Drew earned his Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine from Bastyr University, setting the foundation for a distinguished career devoted to holistic health. Over the past forty years, Dr. Collins has built strong communities and served thousands of patients, students, and families, driven by a vision that integrates mind, body, and spirit.
As a licensed and board-certified naturopathic physician in multiple states, Dr. Collins has become a recognized leader in integrative healthcare. His pioneering work is most recently reflected in his roles as Owner and Director of Proactive Choice Inc. and the San Diego Clinic of Integrative Medicine, where he has provided concierge care to countless patients since 2016.
Dr. Collins’ commitment to education is evident in his roles as an adjunct faculty member at Bastyr University, Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine, and National College of Naturopathic Medicine. His leadership as a founding clinical director and professor has profoundly shaped the field of naturopathic medicine.
Beyond his medical career, Dr. Collins expanded his expertise by receiving training and certification as a Field Director and Studio Director for Public Access TV in Southern Oregon, demonstrating his dedication to community engagement and public service.
Returning to his roots in Central Oregon, Dr. Collins recently joined the dynamic KPOV Board with a deep interest in learning the history of this volunteer-based radio station. He is eager to connect with the passionate members of the KPOV family, who generously dedicate their time and financial support to community-sponsored, non-corporate radio.
Recognized for his contributions to the naturopathic community, Dr. Collins chaired key conventions for the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians and the Arizona Association of Naturopathic Physicians, and was honored as the Arizona Naturopathic Physician of the Year in 1992. Now based in Bend, Oregon, Dr. Drew Evan Collins continues to champion holistic health, community involvement, and the enduring value of non-commercial media.
